The Globe's design is rooted in the mid-17th century, when English shaft and globe bottles were crafted by hand, producing robust vessels with thick sides suitable for both storage and serving. These early bottles, created in coal-fueled furnaces, marked the transition to sturdier and more practical designs. Over time, the shaft and globe evolved into the iconic onion bottle, prevalent during Taylor Fladgate’s foundation in 1692.
